I have been overloaded with schoolwork this semester but I can safely say that something very very interesting is coming up... it'll take a long time though.

Someone stole my macbook pro, wallet and handphone from my bag on thursday evening at NTU SRC. although my hard disk was not stolen, it still hurts so much...

trying to redownload all my files again... fortunately i yousendit to someone...

so sad... tomorrow will go down to thieves market. hopefully can find it there.

thanks to those who msged me asking why i haven't been updating >_<... i actually have works but they cannot be displayed due to some reasons... from 20th july onwards however the project will be over so please wait till then.

on a side note TRANSFORMERS 2 WAS AWESOME~!!!!

so well i come back from my 5 hour portrait drawing session and learnt ALOT of things:

1) you can go there just for drawing practice, but i'm not really there for that...
2) you must develop a style that you wish to promote. what do i mean? i started out the usual art student way, very sketchy pencils with construction lines etc. at the end of the event i had switched to pen and copic marker and was drawing in a very different style from my ultra realistic style. 15 mins is too short to blend everything nicely. only then did i start to sell portraits.
3) singaporean artists are really good! most of them have classical art background and many have developed personal styles... some were so good i think it'll take me 10 years to reach that standard...
4) its really tiring to sketch for so long with only 1 short toilet break...

so what now? i guess i'll start refining on my long neglected personal style that i was very comfortable with and brush up on my anatomy studies. which means plenty of pen and ink studies and practices as well as lots of pencil drawings about perspective and form. ill practice some new methods that i learnt in class and try it out in foundation. also must talk with my foundation teacher about these portrait drawing sessions and her experiences.

anyway there won't be anything new until maybe monday night when i'm freer. stay safe everyone!
